Hulton/Archive is one of the largest collections of photography
and illustrative material in the world containing over 40 million images,
covering prints, engravings, cartoons, illustrations, maps, periodicals
and other ephemera.
Hulton/Archive was formed after Getty Images had acquired two of the leading
historical stock houses; Hulton Deutsch in London in 1996– forming
Hulton Getty– and Archive Photos in New York– a division of
The Image Bank.
Each giclee within this extraordinary collection was actually produced
from the original negative, lending a wonderful authenticity and undiminished
connection with the original artist and his subject. Each piece is individually
hand titled on the white border surrounding the images and each is individually
hand numbered. Ad stated by the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity,
edition sizes are restricted and when any image becomes sould out, it
will never again be produced as a giclee. Giclees from the Hulton Getty
Collection have been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Los
Angeles County Museum, the British Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum
of Art.
