Artist Kathleen Keifer draws inspiration from Southern
California's beaches, roads and landscapes, including the iconic
imagery that defines this part of the world, with its palm trees, old
"woodies" cars, lifeguard stands, ocean sunsets and Route 1
signs. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including
Angelino Magazine, SouthwestArt and Coastal Living. She published an anthology
of her work in 2006, entitled Perspectives on Coastal Beauty: from
Malibu to Manhattan Beach.
Keifer's paintings are widely collected by art enthusiasts who appreciate
her skill at capturing the human dimension in beach and other Southern
California scenes. The artist lets us peek over her shoulder and envy
her characters, who live in such "perfect" settings amid
the striking beauty of this part of the world.
Keifer lives in Manhattan Beach. She is a second generation artist who
sustains her legacy, nurturing the artistic talent of her husband and
their three daughters.
